Bias in Recruitment Practices is a Barrier of Workplace Diversity
A significant amount of workplace issues that stem from a lack of diversity and equity can be linked to the recruitment process, primarily in the hiring and placement stage. It is during the selection process that people are often denied positions because of their diverse background, age, race, or sexual orientation, despite the fact that they may be qualified to fill the positions. If organizations are serious about change, diversity and equity must be embedded in the organization's culture and promoted through organizational policies and processes.
